This Week In House Plants (01/07/23)

Happy July!

This weekend my boyfriend is tearing up the terrarium to make some improvements for the dart frog have in there. This means a lot of plants are gonna have to come out, which is fine because they’re waaay too big for it now.

It’s exciting! Like getting new plants but without having to leave the house.

There’s a new leaf on the verrucosum, and it is BEAUTIFUL:

I love her.

Also, don’t panic if your variegated plant produces an all-green leaf. My Syngonium mottled produced a very variegated lead directly after an all-green one:

Tradescantia Nanouk, looking stunning:

I grew some cacti from seed and they’re starting to poke through!

How. Freaking. Cute.

Two on the Ficus benjamina have sprouted too!

Here’s a houseplant tour from Hakuna MaPlanta! I love him – he’s incredibly relatable for someone that has so many rare plants.

Interesting video on how to make money from your plants.

Apparently, Calathea stella (which either is or is very similar to, a white fusion) is a big trend this year. May the odds be ever in your favour.

Also praying that these beauties come down in price. Also a warning that Alocasia are the queens of unstable variegation.

Hope you all have an amazing week!
