I’ve just realised that putting the date in the title is probs quite confusing for Americans because we format dates differently. I do apologise, but also, it’s more for me than for you, so I can find them more easily when I need to check I’m not writing about the same thing twice or something.
Anyway.
First things first, SHE’S BLOOMED:
Okay, so there’s only, like two out at the moment but so pretty!
The scent is much stronger after the first couple of days – it’s really perfumey, but in a nice way. Like, nice perfume, not talc-y.
This week’s house plant haul is MINE. Self promotion baby! I had to film it twice, because I have ring on the back of my phone that was, unbeknownst to me, making the most annoying sound in the world clacking against the back of my phone. My extremely chill Friday was actually pretty stressful!
I also have a small house plant haul! I’ll do a video too, so subscribe to my YouTube channel if you fancy watching that.
I bought new plants!
A Rattlesnake Calathea for £4.99. Bargain, but it’s obvs just a little one.
A Stromanthe Triostar, also £4.99
A Hoya carnosa Compacta, also £4.99.
It’s only little but has a couple of vines
A Philodendron paraiso verde that was £12.99! Absolute steal BUT it does look like there’s been a bit of aphid activity on there AND it had been cleverly displayed so it looked less droopy than it is. That’s fine, I’m more than happy for the price
Oh, and a Hoya Australis Lisa for £8.99 that came with a friend:
Hoya + mealybugs = best friends.
I’ve just sprayed all the plants down with castile soap and water, and I’ll keep a close eye on them. I’m not worried about any of them, but the Australis Lisa is in the bathroom…just in case. I’m really not in the mood for a full-blown mealybug epidemic.
Oh and just be aware that Hoya Australis Lisa are also sold under the name Hoya tricolor Bordvare in the UK. I’m 95% sure they’re the same plant, it’s the whole Manjula/Happy Leaf thing all over again.
Have a great weekend! Good luck to everyone trying to get Taylor Swift tickets on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday!
