Fun fact: Etsy have unceremoniously thrown me out of their affiliate programme, the rogues.
Still, we move.
FYI, I haven’t bought from these stores (I like to buy my plants IRL) but Reddit say they’re good.
If you’re looking for gift ideas for plant people, check that link back there.
I periodically update this by stalking Reddit groups.
Anyway, in no particular order:
A nice variety of Hoya, Begonian and Philodendron. Some very normal stuff, but some nice rareties too.
Apparently these can take a few days to ship, but the quality is good. known for their anthuriums (we won’t ask about the name choice).
US only, but since only Americas ever read this article, I’m fine with that.
Plants look good, the AI labelling…does not.
Rare Hoya fans, this way.
This one is for any Brits who want variegated Scindapsus (it me).
A LOT of people are fans of the mystery boxes.
What to watch out for when buying plants from Etsy
- Misnamed/misidentified plants – don’t drop £4,000 on an Obliqua unless you know what you’re doing. Although you can find some gems by intentionally searching for mispelled plants. Like you could on eBay back in the day.
- ‘Rare’ plants that are super expensive. Do your research.
- A cutting being sold as a plant – especially with variegated monstera
- Seeds. Don’t buy seeds for rare house plants unless you’re 100% sure what you’re getting.
- Check your shipping costs. If you find a plant you like with exorbital shipping costs, either check one of the other shops on the list or put the plant in the Etsy search bar, and set your preferences to ship to your country. It’ll often list the shops that offer free shipping to your country.
- If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
