I may have to get myself one of those 5 bulb lamps! I have found that if you give your plants plenty of light and humidity they behave much better and are less fussy about watering

I have a corner of my living room that has been sacrificed to my plant issues; a 5-bulb gooseneck floor lamp provides something like 5k lumens, a cheap clunky tabe beneath, and an ultrasonic humidifier pointed straight at it. I think of it as the Island of Fussy Misfits, the plants that are supposed to be a complete PITA to keep happy -- orchids, begonia Rex, fuschia, gardenia, and anthurium. An ancient and massive hoya hangs out nearby, too big for the table - its vines need a few meters to stretch out.
I water the plants there less than I water my succulents. I will go a week or more doing nothing more than refilling the humidifier and turning the lights on when I get up, and off when I go to bed.
Most of these guys bloom their fool heads off most of the year, and there is never a crispy leaf or sad wilted stem of anything.
