Yeah, as long as you remove the top layer of soil and do a good flush I can't imagine it'll do that much damage. I wonder where the snails came from?? I occasionally get them, but I just pick them off. If you lay a slice of cucumber on top of the soil it might winkle out any that are still hiding. For some reason they freaking LOVE cucumber.

Sails! I found snails in my potted peace lilly!
Hours of internet digging and the only sensible solution I had on hand was epsom salt. Egg shells and coffee grinds don't seem particularly effective to me, but salt on the other hand...it's morbid, but after weeks of trying to diagnose and correct what was killing my poor plant, the idea of dissolving those little peace lilly eaters makes me happy.
I'm still looking for information about what sprinkling a little epsom salt on the soil could potentially do to the plant. It's sensitive to tap water and certain fertilizers, so I am definitely worried about epsom salt.
It seemed more important to kill the sails asap, so I watered the plant generously and sprinkled crushed epsom salt just on the surface of exposed soil. I won't water again for a week or two, but when I do, should I scrape away what is left of the salt and leach the soil really well??
Thanks for your help!
