Ooh I'll have to check out Rise Gardens and Inbloom. Aerogarden seem to be shrinking their company so it wouldn't surpirse me if they either shut it down or replace it with a different product.

My Aerogarden Harvest Elite XL has, what is in my opinion, a defective design that caused the electrical panel to short out. The panel is placed right below where the water is added and it is inevitable that drops of water land on the panel.
One would think this would be waterproof. Alas, apparently it is not. The unit is a few years old and I was willing to replace the unit with another $450 one but was hoping for some small credit as a show of good faith. And, so much for that thought. Their customer service modus operandi is to rope-a-dope their customers. First, they had me take pictures, videos, order confirmation numbers, model numbers, receipts, - on and on and on! I couldn't help but think they were hoping I'd give up since they asked for so much information. Not to be deterred, I sent them everything they asked for. Meanwhile, there isn't a customer service (or any) phone number listed anywhere on their website. This was my first clue for what I was in for. Even Amazon lists their customer phone number!! Next, they put on a good front by offering me a "credit" towards the purchase of a new unit. They wrote that I was such a great customer and it was a shame I had issues with my HarvestXL. Oddly, the " we value you client credit" was for the exact same amount of the coupon code that was blasted all over their website. Very clever -- and sneaky. My advice is: Run, don't walk away from Aerogarden; their customer service is horrendous. I'm going back to Rise Gardens and/Inbloom. Shame on you Aerogarden.

9 times out of 10 the issue is temperature - tomatoes need warmth to ripen. The other common issue is too many tomatoes, so the plants can’t produce the quantities of ‘reddening’ compounds required. Try putting in a warm spot before pruning though!
